About the Program
The organizers of the 2009 National HIV Prevention Conference recognize the critical importance of facilitating the attendance of persons living with HIV/AIDS; representatives of nongovernmental organizations, community-based organizations, health departments, and AIDS service organizations; and college/university students who would not otherwise be able to attend the 2009 conference. In an effort to increase attendance from these important groups, the conference organizers are committed to soliciting funds from government organizations, associations, foundations, and corporations in support of the Sponsored Participants program. Priority will be given to individuals whose participation at this conference will clearly enhance his or her work efforts in his or her respective communities, and to persons who will have the opportunity to share the skills and knowledge they acquire at the conference. It is important to note that this conference is science-based. Sponsored Participants will have the unique opportunity to learn about proven effective HIV prevention strategies from nationally recognized experts.
