Formatting Abstracts
IMPORTANT: Please read these instructions carefully and follow
the guidelines below when preparing an abstract for submission.
If you have any questions about submitting an abstract, or if you
need to submit an abstract in hardcopy, please call (800) 772-8232
for assistance.
- All abstracts must be submitted in English.
- The text of the abstract may not exceed 500 words.
- The lead/presenting author may only submit two abstracts
(Rule of Two). If more than two abstracts are submitted by a
presenting author, then only the first two abstracts submitted
will be reviewed.
- Use of abbreviations is desirable. Place special or unusual
abbreviations in parentheses after the full word
or phrase the first time the abbreviation appears.
- Do not indent any paragraphs.
- Do not use hard returns at the end of lines. Only use hard
returns at the end of paragraphs.
- Use numerals to indicate numbers, except at the beginning of
a sentence.
- Explain your results. Do NOT simply state that the results will
be discussed.
- Each abstract must be submitted on both the blinded and
unblinded abstract forms. The electronic abstract submission
system will automatically generate a blinded and unblinded
abstract form.
- Authors who submit an abstract confirm that they have not
previously published their findings and that they are
not planning to publish them prior to the dates of the 2009
National HIV Prevention Conference.
Abstracts will be reproduced as submitted. The organizers reserve
the right to reject abstracts for publication on the abstract CD-ROM
if they do not comply with any of the instructions given in
this announcement.
